- Understanding amplification of learning processes by teaching how to solve a Magic Cube -
By SwivelChair Entertainment
Human history shows an obvious correlation between the evolution of communication and the capabilities to acquire knowledge. The upcoming Mixed Reality (MR) technologies offer an unprecedented potential to investigate new educational concepts and to improve existing ones.
A popular mind game, the Magic Cube, was chosen as a suitable, representative model system for our developments. It provides a broad spectrum of solution-relevant information that has to be communicated bilaterally between the cube and the player. This poses a formidable challenge to our defined task of achieving understanding in a playful, motivating way, while simultaneously using given MR technologies in a most interactive and intuitive way.
Based on an empirical approach, we present descriptive development samples to sketch out strategies and concepts that proved to be helpful insights for our ongoing efforts to make use of MR to amplify learning processes.
